DIY Vintage French Decor Ideas

Friend, today is Trash to Treasure Tuesday again with some of my best blogging buddies – and I’m delighted to share my project and also their thrifty makeovers at the bottom of this post.

For this month’s T2T project, I dug this old thrifted artwork out of the garage.  I’ll show you how to repurpose old wall art and upcycle the frame and glass into DIY vintage French decor – along with some more fabulous French project ideas below.

Cantilevered vanity on one side. The powder bath on the right has a sheet of 3/4 ply slipped into the the end of the cabinet vanity and screwed to the side of a stud enabling the vanity to “fly” approx 14″ off the floor. Really creates a feeling of more room in your powder bathroom or any bathroom for that matter, do it in your 5×8 bathroom. Shows off the porcelain floor tile. Tie your under cabinet lighting in with your over the vanity lighting, switches on at the same time. “Banjo top” over toilet tank, another level of quality added.

Drano didn’t get the water flowing again but it’s pretty clear the pipe under the sink is the culprit. All you need is a bucket and a wrench to get that hairy clog out, right? Think again. Doyle James, president of Mr.Rooter Plumbing says unless you are certain you know where the problem is, dismantling pipes can be risky. “Pipes are complex and very tricky to reassemble, particularly when they’re in close proximity to other plumbing components and machinery, such as dishwashers or garbage disposals,” says James. Even if you’re certain the obstruction is under the sink, if you don’t have prior experience with dismantling and reassembling pipes, you better leave it to a plumber, James says.
