You guys … it’s FINALLY HAPPENING!! Starting TODAY and every week from here on out, I’ll be releasing details on every single room in our home!! I know you’ve been patiently waiting for our home tour and I’ve been eager to share it with you so I’m happy to finally kick things off!!
Today I’m going to start this Home Tour Series with one of the smallest but one of the most beautiful rooms in the house! The spare bathroom!! This was one of those rooms that started off with NO inspo!! I knew I wanted a bathroom close to the pool so people could use it without going through the entire house and it didn’t have to be anything special buttt it sort of evolved into something really unique after doing a bathroom refresh during Love It Or List It Vancouver. We had pulled off a black frame shower and I TOTALLY fell in love with it and you guys KNOW my obsession with all things white!!
I totally wanted to pull off this look … I wanted our bathroom to give off a vintage New York hotel feel and I knew that if I went through with the black frame shower that this bathroom would look the best with a mix of white, beige and black accents. I wanted people to feel like they were on vacation when they used it! I actually had the black frame shower done locally by a local shower manufacturer … if this is something that you would like to have in your own home, you should just be able to show your local shower manufacturer a photo of this one (or a similar one) and they should be able to make it for you!!
Overall the look of our spare bathroom slowly evolved and I think it came together beautifully. However, I felt like it was still missing something and that’s around the time I came across the gingham removable wallpaper from Target!! It totally completed the space and it’s super inexpensive!! Win-win!!
I also wanted to give a nod to Justin in this space which is why I incorporated the word “scrub” in the floor out of the “Tender Grey” penny tile from Olympia Tile! The subway tile in the shower is from Olympia Tile as well and I absolutely looove it!! It’s the series “Oxford” in 3×6, 3×12 and the chair rail. The tile is a great foundation for the space and it’s also heated with in-floor heat thanks to the folks at NuHeat who installed it for us! There’s something to be said about stepping out of the shower onto a warm floor or running to and from the pool in the spring and fall and warming your chilly feet on the tile!! The range, shower head, sink, and faucets are all from Kohler along with the railroad black shelf above the toilet! Also, the shower and ledges are all from Caesarstone!

The white round mirror and the sconce are both from Wayfair with lighting from Sylvania! Actually, the sconce originally came in silver and I realized when it came in that it would look better in that space if it were black so I ended up taking it to a local car painting company and they painted it black for me!! The baseboards and trim are from Metrie and the hardware in the bathroom is from Emtek! The window in the bathroom is from Plygem and I have to say, I absolutely LOVE this company, their customer service is outstanding and they ended up being one of my favourite partners from the whole project!
I know that many of you are probably eyeing up the stool, the towels and the coral art and the truth is, I lucked out and snagged them ALL from HomeSense!! I freakin love that place!! LOL!!
Well, what do you think of our first reveal?? Make sure to share your feedback below and let me know which room you’re most excited to see!!
