The last Pei Wei Asian Kitchen in Jacksonville has abruptly closed.
The sign is gone, the doors are locked and an auction will be held Sunday to sell off all the kitchen equipment, furnishings and fixtures of the restaurant, located at 4849 Town Center Parkway at The Markets at Town Center on the Southside.
Pei Wei officials didn’t respond to Times-Union telephone and email messages Tuesday.
It was unknown when or why the restaurant closed.
The restaurant’s Facebook page states it’s permanently closed. And the location is no longer listed on the company’s website.
The restaurant was the last of three in Jacksonville to close. Pei Wei restaurants in Mandarin and Bartram Park previously closed.

Messages Tuesday on the restaurant and corporate headquarters telephones stated all Pei Wei restaurants closed March 18 until at least April 5 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There was no mention of permanent closures.
Luman E. Beasley Auctioneers Inc. will conduct the public auction at 12:12 p.m. Sunday.
